Currículo Resumido / Short resume

Georgi Smirnov was born in 1961 in Moscow, USSR. His PhD is from the Moscow State University (1988). He worked at the Computing Centre of The Soviet Academy of Sciences. Now he is professor at the University of Minho, Portugal.
Georgi Smirnov’s research interests lie in applied mathematics, optimization, differential equations, control theory, as well as in space flight dynamics and control.
He is the author of the books ‘Stabilization Problems with Constraints: Analysis and Computational Aspects’ (Gordon and Breach, 1997, with V.Bushenkov) and ‘Introduction to the Theory of Differential Inclusions’ (Graduate Studies in Mathematics, vol. 41, American Mathematical Society, 2002), as well as over 100 articles.
